Each yacht is equipped with at least 2 permanent crew members (Captain & Chef). The crew members live onboard their assigned vessel year around and will be onboard with you for the duration of the charter.

Crewed Charter Catamarans are completely private. The only guests onboard are the guests in your immediate party plus your crew members.

Cruising time in the Caribbean is year around!

Caribbean Weather:

Outdoor temperatures in the Caribbean stay right around 85 degrees Fahrenheit during the day and 75-80 degrees Fahrenheit at night. The ocean water temperature also stays consistent at a pleasant 80 degrees Fahrenheit.

Rainy days are unheard of  throughout the islands but when it does rain, it does not stick around long. Most days you will see a light morning shower followed by a gorgeous rainbow – then sunshine all day!

Hurricane Season:

Most charter yachts in the Virgin Islands move down island during the hurricane months ( late August – late October). St. Vincent & The Grenadines is a beautifully safe place to escape the storms.

The Bahamas is also a great place to charter during these summer months. Your crew will closely monitor storms to insure your charter will not be impacted.

Holidays:

Christmas & New Year week in the Caribbean is the busiest time of year. Booking a charter during this time should be done well in advance to find the best option. We recommend planning a holiday charter 8 – 12 months in advance.

  • Professional crew, including private chef.
  • ALL food! Breakfast, lunch, snacks, 3 course dinner, etc. all based on your preferences
  • Alcoholic & non alcoholic beverages all based on your preferences
  • Cruising fees

  • Wifi and all yacht amenities and water sports/toys (except Scuba Diving)

Not included:

  • Airfare
  • crew gratuity
  • Premium liquors (this varies yacht to yacht)
  • Relocation fees if applicable (i.e., move a Bahamas based yacht to the BVI .)
  • Onshore amenities such as drinking and dining
  • Dockage other than embarking and disembarking. Unless otherwise specified when booking.

Mostly common with large power yachts, this means the rate is only the price to “rent” or charter the yacht with crew and does not include, fuel, food, beverages, or cruising fees. These “extras” typically cost 20-30% of the charter rate.

Gratuity is a major factor when it comes to budgeting for a charter.

Industry standard gratuity in the Caribbean is 15%-20% of the charter rate. For example, if the charter rate is $20,000 USD the gratuity would be $3,000 – $4,000 USD based solely on the charterers discretion.

Crews accepts cash, check, paypal, venmo, or wire transfer unless otherwise stated.

Each yacht will have it’s own pet policy in place.

The BVI and many other island countries have strict laws in place which require the pet to travel with specific documentation. This documentation process is long and costly so typically guests choose to charter without their pets.

Charter Brokers are kind of like real estate agents. You tell us what you want and we find it for you! Unlike real estate agents, this service comes as no additional cost to you!

Charter Yacht Brokers are essential when it comes to booking a crewed charter yacht. Each yacht is unique in it’s own way and the options can easily become overwhelming. Party size, cabin arrangements, dietary preferences, cruising locations and crew compatibility are just a few things brokers look at when matching a yacht to a clients wish list.

Brokers work directly with the yacht during the booking process to insure all information such as crew, pricing, amenities and accommodations are correct and acceptable for guests. Typically, it is not possible to contact yachts without first going through a broker.

I know what you’re thinking… Out of so many charter brokers across the world, why choose Sheer Yachting?

Sheer Yachting is one of the newest charter brokers to enter the business! That may seem like we don’t have enough experience but that is far from the truth! For the past 4 years Michelle, Founder of Sheer Yachting, has been working as a chef on one of the most popular charter catamarans in the Caribbean, EXCESS. With experience working directly in the field, Michelle knows exactly what clients are looking for and what they expect on a crewed charter yacht.

You may think matching you with the perfect yacht is all we do but it’s so much more than that. Matching you with the perfect crew is where we begin. Crew compatibility is so important and Michelle has personally met most of the crews in the Caribbean. “It takes more than a single interview to get to know who your sending your clients to” Michelle says.” She continues, “I’ve spent time hanging out with charter yacht crew members, having dinner, going bowling, relaxing poolside and attending training seminars together.”

It’s kind of like friendship matchmaking; Sheer yachting knows what clients to match with what crews. When we get it right, which we always do, you’re guaranteed to leave your charter vacation with new lifelong friends.
