A crewed yacht charter includes a professional crew, typically consisting of a captain and a chef/hostess, who handle all aspects of sailing, navigation, and hospitality, allowing you to relax and enjoy your vacation.

The average price of a crewed yacht charter is $30,000 per week all inclusive. The cost varies depending on the size and type of yacht, the number of guests, the duration of the charter, and the season. Additional costs may include gratuities for the crew, premium beverages, and any special requests.

Each yacht is equipped with at least 2 permanent crew members (Captain & Chef). The crew members live onboard their assigned vessel year around and will be onboard with you for the duration of the charter. 

Crewed Charter Catamarans are completely private. The only guests onboard are the guests in your immediate party plus your crew members.

The best time to charter a yacht in the Caribbean is during the dry season, which typically runs from November to July. This period offers several advantages.

The best time to visit the BVI is from December to April, during the dry season. However, the shoulder seasons of May to June and November can also offer good weather and fewer crowds.

Fly into Cyril E. King Airport (STT) on St. Thomas: This is the main airport in the USVI, with numerous flights from major cities in the U.S., the Caribbean, and other international locations.

 

Fly into Beef Island on Tortola (airport code EIS). The Tortola airport offers numerous daily flights from Puerto Rico and St Maarten through Cape Air, Seaborne, and Liat Airlines. American Airlines offers direct flights to the BVI from Miami. Alternatively, you can fly into St Thomas and enjoy a picturesque 1 hour ferry ride to the BVI.

The ferry will makes stops at various ports in the BVI, and with advance notice, we can arrange for your yacht to meet you at the ferry terminal. If you prefer a more personalized schedule and luxurious travel, private water taxis are available for your group.

Fly into Nassau (NAS) This is the main international airport in the Bahamas, with many flights from major cities in the U.S., Canada, and Europe. From Nassau, you can take a short domestic flight or a ferry to your yacht’s location, depending on where it is docked.

Depending on where your yacht is located, you might fly directly to other islands like Exuma (GGT), Eleuthera (ELH), or Abaco (MHH). These airports also receive international and domestic flights.

Fly into Princess Juliana International Airport (SXM): This is the main airport on the Dutch side of St. Martin, with many international flights from major cities in the U.S., Canada, Europe, and the Caribbean.

Fly into Grand Case-Espérance Airport (SFG): If you’re traveling from within the Caribbean, you might find flights into this smaller airport on the French side of the island.

Fly into Maurice Bishop International Airport (GND): This is the main international airport in Grenada, with flights from major cities in the U.S., Canada, Europe, and the Caribbean.

Connecting Flights: If there are no direct flights from your location, you can fly to a nearby Caribbean hub like Barbados (BGI), Trinidad (POS), or St. Lucia (UVF) and then take a short connecting flight to Grenada.

 

Renting a charter yacht during hurricane season (early August to late October) can be risky due to the potential for storms. It’s essential to have flexible travel plans, good travel insurance, and stay updated on weather forecasts.

Grenada is generally considered to be on the southern edge of the hurricane belt, making it less likely to be affected by hurricanes, especially compared to islands further north.

Yes, you can rent a yacht in the Grenadines during hurricane season, but it’s important to be aware of weather conditions and have flexible plans. The Grenadines are also less frequently affected by hurricanes than the northern Caribbean.

Outdoor temperatures in the Caribbean stay right around 85 degrees Fahrenheit during the day and 75-80 degrees Fahrenheit at night. The ocean water temperature also stays consistent at a pleasant 80 degrees Fahrenheit. 

Rainy days are uncommon  throughout the islands but when it does rain, it does not stick around long. Most days you will see a light morning shower followed by a gorgeous rainbow – then sunshine all day! 

Hurricane season in the Caribbean officially runs from June 1st to November 30th each year but charter yachts only close their calendar from August 1 – November 15th. During this period, tropical storms and hurricanes can develop in the region, potentially affecting weather conditions and sea travel.

It’s essential to stay informed about weather forecasts and consider travel insurance options if planning a yacht charter during this time. Yacht charter companies and captains are experienced in navigating weather patterns and will prioritize your safety while ensuring an enjoyable experience.

In the unlikely event you need to cancel your charter, all payments are forfeited. However, if the yacht can secure a new booking for the same dates, you may receive a partial refund. In some cases, you may have the option to reschedule to a future date and have your deposit held.

It’s recommended to purchase travel insurance that covers cancellations for added protection. This can help you recover costs if you need to cancel for reasons covered by your policy.

Pack light, breathable clothing, swimwear, sunscreen, hats, and comfortable footwear. Don’t forget your travel documents, personal toiletries, and any medications you may need.

Mostly common with large power yachts, this means the rate is only the price to “rent” or charter the yacht with crew and does not include, fuel, food, beverages, or cruising fees. These “extras” typically cost 20-30% of the charter rate.

Industry standard gratuity for the crew onboard a yacht is 15%-20% of the charter rate. For example, if the charter rate is $20,000 USD the gratuity would be $3,000 – $4,000 USD based solely on the charterers discretion. 

Crews accept cash, check, paypal, venmo, or wire transfer unless otherwise stated.

Yes, many crewed yacht charters offer special packages for occasions such as honeymoons, anniversaries, birthdays, and corporate retreats. These can include customized decorations, special menus, and unique activities.

Your onboard chef will prepare gourmet meals based on your dietary preferences and any specific requests you provide beforehand. Fresh, locally sourced ingredients are often featured.

Activities often include snorkeling, kayaking, paddleboarding, fishing, and diving. Some yachts also offer additional amenities like onboard spas, fitness equipment, and entertainment systems.

Each yacht will have it’s own pet policy in place.

The BVI and many other island countries have strict laws in place which require the pet to travel with specific documentation. This documentation process is long and costly so typically guests choose to charter without their pets.
