Captain Andy Roddick
Andy’s love of sailing began in his teenage years and grew into a lifelong connection with the sea, including years spent living aboard with his family. That experience shaped the calm, capable, and hands-on approach he brings to every charter aboard SONGBIRD.
Holding a USCG 50 Ton Master Captain’s License, Andy combines strong seamanship with an easygoing personality and a genuine love of adventure. He is also a licensed private pilot, bringing the same attention to detail, sound judgment, and composure he relies on in the skies to his role at the helm.
For Andy, a memorable charter is about much more than simply sailing from one island to another. He enjoys introducing guests to beautiful anchorages, secluded coves, exceptional sailing, and those special places that make exploring the Caribbean by yacht so unforgettable.
Whether under sail or relaxing at anchor, Andy’s goal is to create an experience where guests feel comfortable, well cared for, and completely at home on the water.
Chef Sherri Roddick
For Sherri, food is much more than nourishment. It is an experience that brings people together and can make you feel genuinely good.
With a background rooted in wellness and a deep appreciation for the natural qualities of herbs, spices, aromas, and fresh ingredients, Sherri brings an intuitive and thoughtful approach to the galley aboard SONGBIRD.
Her menus are created around her guests, balancing beautiful flavors, fresh ingredients, and inviting presentation to turn every meal into part of the charter experience. From relaxed breakfasts overlooking a quiet anchorage to colorful lunches and memorable dinners under the Caribbean stars, Sherri loves creating food that complements life on the water.
Warm and attentive by nature, she takes pleasure in discovering what her guests enjoy and creating meals that feel personal, comforting, and just a little special.
Asher Roddick, Bosun
Having grown up on the water, Asher is already following in his family’s maritime footsteps. At 16, he is working toward earning his own captain’s license while developing practical seamanship experience alongside his parents aboard SONGBIRD.
Energetic, approachable, and happiest around the ocean, Asher assists with the day-to-day running of the yacht and brings a youthful sense of adventure to the crew.
He is particularly passionate about kite surfing and enjoys sharing that enthusiasm with guests who want to experience a little more adventure during their charter.
Growing up aboard and around boats has given Asher a natural familiarity with life at sea, making him a wonderful addition to SONGBIRD’s family crew.
Meet the Roddick Family
Together, Andy, Sherri, and Asher bring something particularly special to SONGBIRD: the warmth and personality of a family who genuinely loves life on the water.
Their different strengths complement one another naturally, from Andy’s experience at the helm and Sherri’s thoughtful approach to food and hospitality to Asher’s enthusiasm for watersports and adventure.
Their aim is simple: to welcome guests aboard, share the Caribbean lifestyle they love, and create a charter that feels personal, relaxed, adventurous, and full of memories guests will want to take home with them.
